Harry Potter Themed Letter

Standard

Today (Monday, February 13th, 2012) was a great day because…

I received my first letter from a pal in France, and it was written on HARRY POTTER PAPER!  :D  I am SOOOOO excited!  It is EPIC.  I’m super duper excited to write back to her, even though I don’t have paper as cool as hers.  lol  I have NO idea where I could even get Harry Potter paper, but I am definitely on the look out.  Anyone know where I can find some?  lol  This is one of the reasons I love snail mail, and my snail mail friends.  You get letters and friendship through fantastic paper and time.  ♥  Plus, a letter written on freakin’ HARRY POTTER PAPER!?  It doesn’t get any better than that! :D  Thank you, Salome!  ♥

I (Sort of) Met One of My Pen Pals!

Standard

Today (Sunday, February 12th, 2012) was a great day because…

I sort of met one of my pen pals!  :D  I know you’re all thinking how can you sort of meet someone?  Weeeeell, let me tell you!  lol  I was at work, on Box Office, doing my thing, ringing through guests and wishing them all a magical day.  Over our headsets, which we call ears, one of my fellow Cast Members, Casey, said, “Hey Carolyn look over here.”  I looked up from my guest and saw Casey standing to the side of Box Office with a girl, and a little behind them, Meaghan was standing there.  Not knowing what I was supposed to be looking at, I turned back to my guest, but was thinking about the girl standing next to Casey.  Did I know her?  I looked over again, and Casey said, “Do you know who this is?”  And as I stared at the girl a little harder, it hit me just as Casey said, “I’m told this is one of your pen pals…”  YES!  It hit me!  I grinned, and said, “Yes, I do know who this is!”  I was so excited, because the girl next to Casey was Vanessa, one of my pen pals, IN THE FLESH!  :D  Casey laughed at me and said to Vanessa, “She’s right there, when you can get a chance to talk.”

I told Vanessa I would be right with her, and I was shaking through my next few transactions because I was so excited and nervous.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t get my line down, and no one came to help me, so she had to leave.  :’(  She waited a long time, and finally said, “I’m really sorry, but I have to go.”  I don’t blame her.  I was really sad I couldn’t talk to her, but she promised that next time we would be able to talk.  She did promise that we would talk next time though.  She only lives three hours away from me, so we could go visit each other quite easily.

And that is how I sort of met one of my pen pals.  lol  I’m just so excited because I saw her, in real life, in the flesh, so I know for sure she isn’t a crazy creeper who lied online or in her letters!  lol  Not that I ever thought that about her, but it’s good to know.  XD  So my dearest pen pals, if you ever decided to drop in on me unexpectedly at work, make sure you have a lot of time so we can talk, okay?  And prepare yourself, because I would probably be a blithering idiot.  lol

Vanessa if you’re reading this, COME BACK SOON! lol  ♥

I’m (Sort of) Self-Sufficient!

Standard

Today (Saturday, February 11th, 2012) was a great day because…

I did two awesomely self-sufficient things, and am quite proud of myself!  :D  Lemme tell you:

1.) I Fixed a Toilet!  I was at my friend Lauren’s (after our partying, lol) and I went to the bathroom.  When I was all done I went to flush, and it made that empty clinking noise.  ”Shiiiiiiiit,” I thought.  ”What am I gonna do?”  I stood there for a moment, and tried flushing it a couple of times, and nothing happened.  I started to panic a little, and somehow the idea of maybe the chain had fallen off came to me.  So I took off the back lid, reminded myself that the water was clean, and stuck my hand in.  I saw that there was a chain on the bottom, and grabbed it.  As I pulled it straight up, it started to make the flushing noise.  I hooked it onto the little bar, and pushed down the handle.  TA-DAAAAA!  It flushed!  :D  I was so proud of myself!  You guys don’t even know.  lol

2.) I Took the Bus All by Myself!  Lauren didn’t want to take the bus with me to the mall, because “She was too comfy in her pajama pants.”  :P  I live in a small city where there isn’t a bus system, and I’ve only ever taken public transit WITH Lauren, because my parents drive and I don’t go out much.  lol  I said to her, “You have to come with me and tell me what bus to get on though,” and she agreed.  So we went to the bus stop and she stayed until the bus came.  I should mention at this point that there is only one bus that goes by Lauren’s house, so I couldn’t have gotten on the wrong one, but still.  I was nervous!  I got on, paid my fare, and chilled on the bus for the twenty minute ride to the mall.  I got there safe and sound, and wasn’t nervous once I got on the bus.  Again, I’m so proud of myself!  :D

I know to others they may sound pretty lame, but becoming self-sufficient starts with the little things.  And I think I’ve been starting out slowly, and these two things are really important to know how to do, in my opinion, and I’m really happy.   I like that I’m able to share these with you anonymous followers.   ♥  I hope you’re as proud of me as I am of myself!

PARTY TIME

Standard

Today (Friday, February 10th, 2012) was a great day because…

I partied, finally!  :D  My most favorite Big Me Lauren and I went to one of the hottest gay clubs in town, and had a BLAST.  :D  I hadn’t been to that bar since last March, and I hadn’t even been out to the bar since last summer.  We drank, we danced, and we had a good time. I LOVE that bar, and after a long and stressful week in both work and personal situations, it was good to get out.  Sometimes that’s what you’ve gotta do to get out of a  funk; drink and dance.  XD  I felt a little better after, and it was great to see my Big Me again too, after FOREVER!  ♥  lol I’ve gotta get out again soon.  Wanna come with!?  lol

Talking to Tara

Standard

Today was a great day because…

I talked to Tara!  :D  She is the assistant manager who worked at my store until last week.  She was transferred to the other Disney Store in my city, and I miss her lots.  :(  I talked to her on the phone today, and it was really great.  ♥  She was more than just my assistant manager, she was my friend and a really great listener.  We talked about our love life problems and it was nice to have some outside advice, even though I didn’t always like what she had to say.  XD

We were supposed to be working, but as per usual we didn’t end up talking about work related things.  lol  I would have continued to talk to her for hours, but then a guest came up and I had to give the phone back to Monique.  :(  Hopefully she’ll be back in my store soon, and if not, that we get to talk a whole lot more.  :D

A “Free” Booster Juice

Standard

Today was a great day because…

I sort of stole a Booster Juice.  XD  I didn’t mean to!  I was at my university night class with my mom, and the line at Tim Hortons was too long, so I instead went to Booster Juice.  I ordered, and my mom gave me some money.  I waited for my drink, and they didn’t say anything about money.  The people before me and after me walked away without handing over money.  I was pretty confused.  O.o  When they handed me my drink I stood there for a few seconds and they didn’t say anything.  I slowly turned away, and… nothing.  No one said anything.  So I went up to my mom and she said, “Did you just steal that Booster Juice?”  I replied with, “Sort of…”  lol

We went to class and didn’t think anything of it.  Free Booster Juice, woohoo!  :D  Then after class we went back down to the lobby, and we realized you don’t pay at the restaurants, but at the little tills surrounding it.  Oops!  I walked right past it and didn’t notice.  There was someone at the till when I had my drink, but they didn’t say anything to me.  I’m not sure why.  O.o  Ahh well, today I got a free drink and next time I *think* I know where to pay!  XD

A Whole New World in the Imagination Station!

Standard

Today was a great day because…

I realized that the video clip for A Whole New World from Aladdin is on our Imagination Station!!!!  :D  It’s in our LOVE section, and I am super duper excited.  Anyone who knows me knows that Aladdin is my all time favorite Disney movie, and it’s very hard to find merchandise for it.  :’(  I’m just desperately waiting for it to be re-released from the vault in the next couple years.

Amanda and I were looking at clips to fill up the station and when I saw A Whole New World I squealed and put it on.  I waited until Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the Lion King to was finished, and then stood in the theater for three minutes just watching it.  Not working, not doing what I was supposed to be doing, just watching the best song from my favorite movie on a huge screen.  :D  It was AWESOME.  It was totally the best part of my day!
